If you can practice in a dark room with a sparkler or even a candle, you’ll get a good idea. If not spend the first few fireworks learning when you should press the shutter button. After several minutes you should get the hang of it and start timing your photos. If you have burst mode turned off you can press and hold on the shutter and let go as soon as you see the firework start to explode.

Use Burst Mode

If you can’t quite get the timing down, or you can’t hear when the firework is shot off you can use burst mode. This takes a series of photos quickly, so you can capture fireworks photos of the explosion in multiple stages.

Get Close & Don’t Zoom
