Amazon Listing Hints Galaxy Tab 8.9 with 3G Dropping in UK on Aug. 11

A listing by a private seller on Amazon’s UK site may give hints that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 8.9, the smaller sibling to the recently released Galaxy Tab 10.1, tablet will be landing complete with 3G HSPA wireless networking on August 11. The more portable 3G-enabled Galaxy Tab 8.9 will retail for £605 when it lands.

So far, we haven’t heard much of the Galaxy Tab 8.9 launch date since the device was initially announced at CTIA in March. A recent leaked Verizon Wireless roadmap did hint that perhaps a 4G LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab 8.9 will join the Galaxy Tab 10.1 on the carrier’s lineup beginning this November.

An 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab would offer more viewable screen real estate than the 7-inch tablet models on the market today while allowing the slate to be more portable than a 10-inch slate. Samsung demonstrated the 8.9-inch tablet at CTIA and notes that the device is still pocketable.

There’s also been recent speculations that T-Mobile USA will also launch a Galaxy Tab for its own network soon.

In addition to the Honeycomb-powered Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9, Samsung is said to be prepping for a refresh of a 7-inch Galaxy Tab this fall that would bring an even higher resolution display.
