Ever since 2009, Amazon Wireless has been in beta. No longer. The company announced today that Amazon Wireless has left beta and it will be offering up some nice deals in celebration of the occasion. Amazon Wireless is generally the place to look for a new smartphone on the cheap as it generally has much lower prices than the prices that carriers offer.
Cheap prices and free two-day shipping aren’t all that Amazon Wireless offers now either.
In celebration, the company has added two new features to the site. The first, and most important, is the Amazon Wireless Best Price Guarantee which will allow customers to recoup the difference on a device purchase if they are able to find the same device with the same service plan on an eligible website within 14 days of the purchase.
That’s pretty nifty.
Also, for a limited time, Amazon Wireless will be giving away $25 worth of applications to customers who buy a new device. The free premium apps include applications like Doodle Jump, Shazam Encore, Paper Camera, Weatherbug Elite, Office Suite Pro, Frogger.
That’s not a bad incentive at all. But again, it’s for a limited time – Amazon doesn’t say for how long – while the Price Match Guarantee will be sticking around for the long haul.
In any event, Amazon Wireless just got better and it remains the place to look if you’re looking for a new smartphone but don’t feel like shelling out the big bucks in order to get your hands on it.
