Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Release Rumored Already
Google’s Android 4.4.1 KitKat updates for the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and Nexus 7 are still rolling out but that hasn’t stopped rumors of an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update from surfacing as a noted HTC leakster claims that the HTC One Google Edition and quite possibly, the HTC One with Sense, will be getting an Android 4.2.2 KitKat update in the future.
Update: The Android 4.4.2 update is rolling out to the Nexus 5, Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 right now. Some users will go directly to Android 4.4.2, and will skip the Android 4.4.1 update.
Last week, Google announced an Android 4.4.1 update for Nexus devices, the first big update to the company’s Android 4.4 KitKat software. For the Nexus 5, an update that is currently rolling out with bug fixes and major upgrades to the device’s camera. The update is also coming out for the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7, bringing bug fixes along with it. The update is rolling out slowly but should finish within the next week or so. Those with the know-how can install the Android 4.4.1 update right now.
It appears that Google isn’t done with KitKat though as an Android 4.4.2 KitKat update has been rumored for arrival, a rumor that comes from the same person that suggested that an Android 4.4.1 KitKat update was imminent. HTC insider LLabTooFer claims that the HTC One Google Edition will be getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat instead of Android 4.4.1 KitKat like the Nexus devices. He also claims that the HTC One with Sense could be getting Android 4.4.2 KitKat as well.
And It looks like One GE will get 4.4.2 instead of 4.4.1…

He does not provide any kind of a timeline for either of the updates though he previously say that the HTC One Google Edition would be getting getting Android 4.4.1 soon so it could be that an Android 4.4.2 KitKat roll out could be extremely close, despite the fact that the Android 4.4.1 is still rolling out.
HTC One with Sense (International device) might expect Android 4.4.2 update based on build KOT49G…instead of 4.4 based on KRT16S…

Google itself hasn’t announced anything and hasn’t confirmed an update after Android 4.4.1 KitKat. It likely won’t. Google typically announces roll outs the day of the roll out so HTC One Google Play users and HTC One users will likely have to wait to see if this rumor pans out. We’ve seen Android 4.4.2 in our site analytics but that doesn’t confirm its existence as the references could be spoofed.
The update has shown up on the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 in analytics so it could be that they will be joining the HTC One models sometime in the future. There is no guarantee that Android 4.4.2 will roll out to Google’s Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 as incremental updates have, in the past, hit very specific devices, particularly because they just received their first big Android 4.4 KitKat bug fix update.
Incremental updates typically offer enhancements and bug fixes but the features on board any potential Android 4.4.2 upcoming update remain unknown.

It’s no rumor anymore. My Nexus 5 downloaded 4.4.2 a few minutes ago (but due to my low battery I have to wait until I’m able to install it).

It seems 4.4.2 works worse then 4.4 – for example, when pressing the multitasking button it has small delay

I had 4.4.1 on my Nexus 4 and it was intermittently turning Bluetooth off, requiring a reboot to get it back. That’s a big enough bug to demand a prompt point-release fix, whatever else they did.

just updated to 4.4.2 on my Nexus 4 ten minutes ago. There were no major issues with 4.4 except for the higher intermittent battery drain. 4.4.2 looks the same so not sure what new features?
