Rovio has announced that the sequel to its popular game Angry Birds, which will be available on set-top gaming consoles in addition to mobile platforms, will be played from the point of view of the pigs rather than from the birds’ point of view. The premise behind the game Angry Birds is similar to the game Worms, with the storyline of greedy pigs stealing the birds’ eggs inciting anger in them. As a result, the birds use a slingshot to sling themselves at the pigs and destroy the pigs. Users have a finite number of birds and obstacles, such as a twig house, must be overcome to attack the pigs. After clearing out all the pigs, users will advance to the next level.
It seems now that the pigs have had enough and with all the birds attacking them, the pigs will soon be angry. Additional details are not given on what the storyline will be to the sequel of Angry Birds, but with Rovio’s imagination it will probably be just as addicting to mobile users. The company is also exploring a way to add multi-player social gaming to the mix, though details on that was not given either.
Angry Birds has been available on a number of mobile platform, including iOS, Android, and Symbian S60.
