The Arlo Pro 3 security camera records in 2K, offers HDR support, night vision and it’s weatherproof with a spotlight to let people know they are on camera. This new Arlo Pro 3 camera includes a 2K sensor and a wider 160-degree lens, which is closer to the 4K and 180-degree field of view on the Arlo Ultra.
You can buy the Arlo Pro 3 for $199 as a standalone camera or you can get a package for $499 that includes the Arlo Smart Hub, two cameras and three months of Arlo Smart. Arlo Smart is a $9.99 a month upgrade that lets you store recordings in the cloud for 30 days and enables an e911 feature.
Compared to the Arlo Pro 2, this model includes a spotlight to help with night time recordings. This is on top of color night vision recordings. You also get an upgraded speaker and microphone so that you can more easily hold a conversation over the system. Arlo built-in a siren that you can manually sound or that you can set up to sound when motion or sound is detected by the camera.
The Arlo Pro 3 is IP65 weather resistant to water and dust so you can mount this outdoors without worrying about rain and dirt. There is a magnetic mount that looks similar to the one the Arlo Ultra uses and a screw option.
With the optional Smart Hub, you get better battery life and WiFi performance according to Arlo. The camera charges with a magnetic charging cable, like the Arlo Ultra, so it is easy to charge in place. If you need more permanent power, you can add a solar panel or extended length outdoor charging cables.
Arlo cameras support HomeKit, Google Assistant and Alexa for smart home integration.
