No one would argue that Aston Martin isn’t a bespoke British auto maker, but with the DB11 V8, the Germans provide the oomph. Thanks to a partnership with Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin has a 4.0L V8 making 503 horsepower and 498 lb-ft of torque.

It’s also a good deal for Daimler. Not only does Aston Martin pay Daimler for the engines, but Daimler also has a 5% stake in Aston Martin.
