The AT&T HTC One X Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update has been pegged for arrival though owners of the aging AT&T flagship should not expect it to roll out any time soon.
It has become clear that the HTC One X Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 roll out is closer than ever. We’ve seen a carrier peg its arrival for the end of August and we’ve seen a noted leakster, @LlabTooFeR, proclaim that it might be just weeks away from hitting HTC’s elder statesman. HTC isn’t confirming anything just yet but it’s clear that the company is hard at work, preparing the update for arrival.
While we know that French carrier SFR has the HTC One X Android 4.2 update in its sights, AT&T, the carrier of the HTC One X in the United States, has not mentioned anything in regards to the software. And it likely won’t until the day that the software rolls out.
This has left owners of the device in search of information and fortunately, there is some to be had. @LLabTooFeR suggests that the AT&T HTC One X will indeed be getting Sense 5 and Android 4.2 down the road. He is extremely accurate with inside information when it comes to HTC so One X owners on AT&T can feel safe knowing that the update is going to be rolling out sometime in the future.

What he doesn’t reveal though is a time line for the update so it’s unclear just how long it might take to roll out. If history is any indication, the AT&T HTC One X Android 4.2 and Sense 5 update is likely far off in the distance.
With the HTC One X Android 4.1 update, we saw AT&T lag behind just about every carrier in the world, something that isn’t necessarily new. American carriers are often slow to major Android upgrades and are far less communicative than their European counterparts. So while SFR may be planning to get the update out in late August, that time frame is unlikely to apply for the AT&T HTC One X.
Still any news is good news for AT&T One X owners, especially when it’s about a major upgrade to the device’s software.
