Amazon Fire HD8

Amazon Fire HD8

Last but not least is the latest Android tablet from Amazon. Yes, they run Android, but you'd never guess so. There's no Google Play Store support, which is about the only downside to these tablets. Instead, it's powered by Amazon's Fire OS.

These tablets are built for consumption. They make great e-readers, have plenty of access to games and are perfect for the kids. It's just a good all around cheap tablet.

Amazon's latest tablet has a bright 8-inch 720p IPS display, plenty of power for tablet tasks, 1.5GB of RAM and 32GB of space. You can even add a microSD card for up to 256GB of space full of apps, games, and movies. You'll get 12 hours of battery life, which should be enough for most tasks. Then, there's a little 2MP camera just in case you need one.

With Amazon Alexa built-in and four different colors to choose from, it's a good little tablet for $124. You can buy a model for $109 but it has Amazon ads on the lock-screen. Something called "Amazon special offers." Then, there's a cheaper model with only 16GB of storage for $79. Get that, and throw in a micro-SD card. This is one of the cheapest tablets money can buy that you'll still actually enjoy.

As an alternative, we also want to recommend the Amazon Fire 7 variety pack. It's not quite as good as the HD8, only lasts for around 7-9 hours, but you'll get three tablets for just $149. Perfect for the entire family. Essentially this is three small 7-inch tablets with 8GB of space and three different colors for each kid or family member. Get them right here

sure that most of them are not very powerful, but they can do some work due
