The Apple TV 4K does not include an optical audio out. If you need to use this to connect to a pair of special headphones or to connect to your audio system, you will need an adapter that splits the audio out from HDMI. Kanax makes an adapter designed to work with the Apple TV 4K, which adds an optical audio port and works with 4K content. You can find some other adapters, but you need to make sure they will pass through the 4K content while still giving you an optical out. This also adds a 3.5mm jack that you can use to plug in speakers if you need to connect them that way.
