Best Diabetes Apps
mySugr Junior | |||||||||
The mySugr Junior app allows kids to add entries on the phone and parents to see it on their phone. The app includes an easy way for kids to add glucose readings including taking a photo of the meter and to enter carbs for things they know. The app lets users take a photo of the meal as well. With the app, kids can choose the amount of insulin they need if it they are to that level. This app allows parents to provide feedback to the kids right after they enter information. Kids can earn points to tame the diabetes monster that is in the game. The mySugr Junior app is free on iPhone and Android. | |||||||||

The PredictBGL App also does the same thing, but unlike MySugr, it is designed for people with T1 diabetes. PredictBGL also includes LIVE dexcom data, whereas MySugr is delayed by at least 3 hours, making it far less useful.

As a Type 1 diabetic, the technology available can be a god-send in monitoring and anticipating sugar highs and lows. The CGM is an integral part of a management and predictive program. Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover CGM products so us seniors are left to find out our glucose levels after the fact.

How the hell did you decide which apps to review and rate? There are far better apps than those you choose… As a type 1 diabetic I would recommend Diabetes:M, it’s far better than all of those (maybe without mysugr). Please review more apps before writing such posts … It’s just hilarious to say those are “the best”.

I just wanted to let you know about an app that I use and love. The app is called “Diabetes:M”. It is free and has helped me manage my diabetes. I am a Type 1. It lets you log carbs, insulin, etc. and you can send all of the info from it by e-mail to your provider. It has graphs and charts that help out a lot as well. Hope this helps someone else as much as it has helped me. Thanks.

A great app that has many features is Wellocity Health. It allows you to track blood glucose, carb counting, weight, medication, exercise, and much more! It’s great if you have other health conditions too like hypertension. There is also educational material if you ever feel like reading more about diabetes. It’s free on the app store!
