In this buying guide we explain why you need a screen protector for the LG V30 and share a list of the best screen protectors available. A good glass screen protector can keep that 6-inch screen scratch-free and the phone looking nice and new.
With a big new curved OLED display a screen protector is probably a good idea. LG’s new phone is durable and water-resistant, but it’s far from scratch-proof. Life’s daily hazards can still cause harm.

There are two main styles of screen protectors to choose from. One is a thin film while others are more expensive yet durable glass. We’ve found awesome LG V30 screen protective for as little as $7.95, which is far cheaper than the $200 or more to replace a broken and scratched screen. Options from reputable brands can cost upwards of $50 but are very strong.
While the LG V30 screen isn’t as curved as a Galaxy S8, the glass does have a subtle curve on it. This means some screen protectors might not fit 100% perfect. On other curved devices, they occasionally have a gap between the screen or easily peel off. Our options below are from brands we know and have used in the past on devices with a curved screen.
Some of the cheapest options are the films, which are usually around $7. Even one of those is better than nothing, especially if you don’t plan on keeping your V30 in a case. The more expensive models use a chemically hardened and strengthened glass similar to what’s already on your screen. They’re very strong, and if it does get a crack, take it off and your phone is as good as new underneath.
Even if you buy a case, we still suggest getting a screen protector. That’s because a case won’t protect your phone in a purse or pocket full of keys, or from life’s daily hazards. As more companies release protection we’ll add them to this list. For now, consider popular brands like BodyGuardz, IQShield, Vigeer, and Spigen. Check back often as we’ll update this post with more options from Spigen and ZAGG as they become available.
