Droid DNA Android 4.2 & Sense 5 Release Pegged for December
The Droid DNA Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update, which was earlier pegged for arrival later on this year, has now been given a specific time frame with HTC President Jason Mackenzie hinting at a release at some point within the confines of December meaning Droid DNA users may have to do some waiting before the Android 4.3 and Sense 5 upgrade rolls out.
Earlier this year, HTC made a promise. The company promised a Droid DNA Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, with Sense 5, during the month of September. The company quickly backtracked and broke that promise, saying that the Droid DNA would be getting Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean instead and that it would get it, along with Sense upgrades, meaning Sense 5 or Sense 5.5, sometime this year.
The company did not elaborate until a short time ago when HTC President Jason Mackenzie, in response to a question about the Droid DNA Android 4.2 and Sense 5 update, gave the update a specific release window. The Droid DNA Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with some version of Sense 5 has been pegged for December, no specific date given.
He again says that the update will be rolling out closer to the end of the year, once again confirming HTC’s plans to get it out in 2013 but also seemingly killing off hopes and dreams for an update within October or November. Of course, things could change but at this point, Droid DNA owners will want to temper their expectations when it comes to the timing of the update.

The update will come several months after the HTC Butterfly, the international equivalent of the Droid DNA, received its Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 update. It will also come after the aging HTC One X received its Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update. The AT&T version of the HTC One X is still waiting for its upgrade and no time frame has been mentioned.
HTC’s Droid DNA will likely become a much improved device with the new software as Sense 5 is considered an upgrade over Sense 4. The new software will not only bring Sense 5 features to the table but it will also bring the features of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as well. HTC likely won’t stop there either as both Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 have been rumored for the Droid DNA as well.

Mine as well, since the start. Got better for a while, but mine seems to be acting up more recently. Maybe that update messed with it.

I had the issues for a while but I finally fixed it.
Take out the sim tray, clean the sim card contacts and the sim tray (all sides) with 97% alcohol and a lint free cotton pad. Then push it back in. Before I took mine out, the tray was flush with the rest of the phone, now it is ever so slightly depressed. After doing this just over a month ago, I have had zero issues. Try it and report back!

Ugh, mine has had the SIM card error as well. There are week-long periods during which I need to reboot or toggle on and off Airplane Mode 5-10 times PER DAY. The phone is essentially unusable except on WiFi during these times since one never knows when the it will occur. I haven’t seen the error in ~2-3 weeks now, but I know it’ll be back at an inopportune time soon.
