Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich Updates Approved by Verizon



The Motorola Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich release dates are closer than ever now that Verizon has posted the release notes on its website.

We have been tipped by numerous people to the fact that the release notes are now on Verizon’s website which means that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for both the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX have been approved by Verizon and are ready to roll out.

The updates, we’re being told, have yet to show up on either device, but it appears that a roll out is now closer than ever and could take place in as soon as a few hours or as far off as a few days.

Remember, we’ve heard that June 27th might be the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich release date so it still could be a couple of days before Verizon decides to push the update to owners.

Whatever the case may be, we’re now closer than we ever have been to both updates rolling out. And yes, it does appear that both updates will arrive at the same time. The wait for Ice Cream Sandwich has been a long one for Droid RAZR MAXX owners and an even longer one for Droid RAZR owners and it has been marked by disappointment but it looks like relief is finally here.

It also looks like Verizon is packing global roaming capabilities into the software along with several stability and performance improvements including better mobile hotspot support.

Verizon has yet to give the updates official release dates but we expect it to announce something soon. In the meantime Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX owners, pop some champagne because its Android 4.0 time.
