While Motorola has said that the Motorola Droid RAZR Ice Cream Sandwich update would be rolling out in Q2, we haven’t had a specific date to look forward to. Until now.
According to CNET, someone within Verizon has said that the Droid RAZR Android 4.0 update is slated to roll out next week on June 12th.
That date falls in line with the Q2 window that Motorola has given Droid RAZR owners but keep in mind, these dates are always subject to change and it’s possible that June 12th could come and go without any software rolling out to device owners.
Then again, Motorola has teased the update to owners so we know that something is close to fruition.

In any event, the source also says that Verizon is going to be rolling the update out Over-the-Air (OTA) and that its currently prepping its servers to roll out Android 4.0.4.
Yes, Droid RAZR owners will be getting the latest version of Android it seems.
Unfortunately, this news only has to do with the original Droid RAZR and not the Droid RAZR MAXX which is also slated to be getting its update sometime during Q2.
We assume that the software upgrade for the Droid RAZR MAXX will roll out around the same time as the Droid RAZR but that’s still unconfirmed.
So, at the very least, it appears that an update is on the horizon for the Droid RAZR and those who own the device can now circle June 12th on the calendar.
Again, do so in pencil because roll out dates like this are often changed for various, unstated reasons.
