PC & Xbox One Black Ops 3 DLC 2 Release Date Tips

The Eclipse PC and Xbox One  Black Ops 3 DLC 2 release date is just a few days away and there are several tips that can help you prepare your PC and Xbox One for the new Black Ops 3 maps and Zetsubou No Shima Zombies that arrive on May 19th.

Treyarch and Activision delivered the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC 2 pack to the Xbox One overnight and the PC DLC 2 release is coming later today on May 19th,

A Black Ops 3 Double XP weekend just wrapped up and we know when you can play, the size of the Eclipse DLC map pack on PC or Xbox One and other detials.

If you are a PC or Xbox One owner, this is what you need to know to get ready for the Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2.

You can buy the Eclipse DLC for $14.99 or you can buy the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 season pass for $49.99 that includes all of the DLC packs. This is $10 less than buying them individually. You’ll find more people to play if you buy all or none of the DLC packs.

Here are the Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2 release date tips that will help you prepare for the new maps and zombies — so you can get right into the gameplay.

Clean Out Your Xbox One or PC Hard Drive

Treyarch did not include the Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2 maps in an update for PS4, so it is very likely that we will be seeing them arrive as a standalone download. The PS4 DLC 2 map pack was around 7GB,The Xbox One Maps are 7.9GB  and we expect that the PC maps will be the same.

Even if Treyarch includes them in a new May Black Ops 3 1.11 update of some kind, you will likely need a lot of room. We already saw one large Black Ops 3 1.1o update arrive in May.

We recommend making sure your PC or Xbox One has at least 7 to 10GB of free space so that the any update and the maps will automatically download if your settings are correct. Check out how to delete a Xbox One game to make room.

Start the Black Ops 3 Eclipse Maps ASAP

You may be able to pre-load the Black Ops 3 DLC 2 file, if you go to the Xbox Store or Steam. Once it shows up in the store, you should be able to pre-load it or at least tell your Xbox One to start downloading it in Instant On mode.

No matter how the maps arrive on your Xbox One or PC, you will want to start downloading them as soon as possible. You may want to use the Xbox app on your phone or remote connect to your PC if you have a slow connection at home since the update could take a while to download. Don’t stream video or play games online if you want to download the maps the fastest.

This will take a while to download on slow connections. If you are able to plug in to a wired connection, we recommend doing this to speed up your download.

The actual Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2 download was listed at 23.3MB on the PlayStation Store, but it jumped to almost 7GB. We could see the same thing happen on Steam.

How to Download Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2

On your PC or Xbox One, you can download the Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2 from the Xbox Store, Steam or from inside the Black Ops 3 app.

You will need to download an update if it comes out, but you also need to either pre-order the Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC pack when it goes live or buy the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 season pass.

If you have any issues with this, you will need to follow these directions.

1. Open Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
2. Open the Store
3. Choose Map Packs
4. Choose Eclipse DLC

You can then activate this map pack or download it to your PS4. This should allow you to play.

Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC Problems

It is likely that you will run into Black Ops 3 DLC problems right after the release.

We’ve seen issues activating DLC, slow Black Ops 3 DLC downloads and issues connecting to games after installing previous DLC.

If you own the season pass and you still see a price listed, don’t worry it will not charge you again for the DLC 2 maps on Xbox.

If your download is slow, try connecting with ethernet, even if you can only do this temporarily. You can also try pausing the download and starting it again a minute later.

If you have trouble connecting to games after installing, you should try closing the app or restarting your console completely. That means turning it off and then turning it back on.

It is possible that Treyarch will need to deliver a Black Ops 3 hotfix shortly after the Eclipse release date to fix issues.

Verge Map - Eclipse Black Ops 3 DLC 2 Remake

The first new Black Ops 3 DLC 2 map is Verge. This is a remake of Bonsai from World at War, and it is more than a new coat of paint. Below you will see a variety of Verge map gameplay featuring Domination and Uplink game modes. Treyarch updates the map to use the new movement mechanics. There is a bridge and a lot of verticality in the map that allows players to move around with jumping and wallrunning. You will not see a map that is a carbon copy of Bonsai. Early gameplay videos compare the map to Mad Max and commenters say it has a Borderlands vibe to it. This takes place in a desolate wasteland set in a post apocalyptic future where two forces fight over water. Most of the action takes place in the middle of the map where a narrow bridge runs. You can see this in the videos above and below where you also see that there are tunnels and water to fight in. In all the Verge gameplay videos we watched  there were interesting points that led to a lot of kills, as players quickly discovered how to surprise the enemy in spawns and places to camp in the area near the water.  There are buildings you can go into to hide or to get an overwatch positions and a lot of cool detials inside these hideouts.  There are a lot of flanking opportunities that will allow you to to get behind the enemy, or you can choose to fight through the center, if you are brave and or foolish enough.
