Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition Release: 5 Things to Expect

The Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition release date isn’t coming until November and the collectors edition is already extremely hard to find. With new details emerging and buyers panicking, we take a look at a few things we expect from Bethesda and the highly anticipated Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition release.

Earlier this month, Bethesda finally confirmed the successor to its wildly popular Fallout 3 release from 2008. The game is Fallout 4, a new installment in the Fallout series that builds on the foundation left behind by Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas in 2010.

The Fallout 4 release date is set for 2015 and the game will be out on November 10th, or, just a few short months after its big reveal at E3 2015 in Los Angeles. Naturally, there’s a ton of interest in this game ahead of its release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC and a lot of that interest is in the special edition of the game that’s set to arrive alongside the normal version.

On stage, Bethesda confirmed a special Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition that includes the game, a real-life Pip Boy, a poster, and more. The game is $120, double the price of the normal game, but it has proven to be a hot commodity in the weeks since its debut on retailers around the United States.

Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition is currently sold out and that’s left many buyers scrambling to find their own version ahead of its November 10th release date later this year. We’ve been keeping a close eye on the release and today we want to offer some of our expectations that should help you set your own moving forward.

Here’s what we expect from the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Hard to Find Before Fallout 4 Release Date

You can expect the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition to remain difficult to find ahead of the November Fallout 4 release date that encompasses both the regular version and the Pip Boy Edition of the game.

Fallout 4 is an extremely popular game with an extremely loyal fanbase. The Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition of the game is very unique and very intriguing. It’s also in demand.

Yesterday, Bethesda announced that it had “squeezed” a few more out of its factories to satisfy demand. Only, those additional units were claimed almost immediately after they became available. Expect this trend to continue.

If you want to pre-order one of these and you don’t want to shell out on eBay, you should expect to have to be proactive about putting in an order. If you sit on your hands, you’re probably not going to be able to find one easily ahead of its November release date.

Remember, we still don’t know how many of these Bethesda plans to make so there’s a chance that it could sell out completely ahead of November. It’s only June, anything could happen, but we’d prepare as if it will sell out completely.

Do not expect the game to become any easier to find after the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition release date in November. If you want to buy this game and you don’t want to pay absurd prices on a third-party retailer like eBay or Craigslist, you would be wise to keep your eyes out for an early pre-order. We don’t expect Bethesda to flood the market with Pip Boy Edition versions of the game.

Infrequent Updates from Bethesda

Do not expect Bethesda to be in regular communication about the Fallout 4 Pip Boy stock situation. While it would be great to see it offer daily updates on its plans for the game, that would require a ton of additional energy ahead of the Fallout 4 release in November.

Instead, we expect it to do exactly what it did yesterday and that’s offer occasional updates on the popular collectors edition as we push into the year closer to the game’s November release. Yesterday’s announcement was fairly detailed and it came on a day when the developer was able to push some more stock into various retailers including Best Buy and Amazon.

Periodic Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition Stock

We expect Bethesda and its U.S. retail partners to occasionally offer Fallout 4 Pip Boy Stock, sometimes without making an official announcement.

We’ve been tracking the game since release and we’ve seen stock emerge at several different retailers either because pre-orders got cancelled or they upped their allotment. We expect this to continue well into the year so you’ll need to keep your eyes peel for changes to inventory.

We’ve put together a guide that will help you track down a Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition in stock so be sure to check that out if you need help monitoring the situation.

Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition Release in Europe

Yesterday, Bethesda told Fallout 4 fans in Europe that it’s “making sure that Pip-Boys are allocated overseas.” The game is experiencing stock issues in places other than the United States.

One look at the German version of Amazon reveals a familiar situation. The Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition is completely sold out for the PC, Xbox One and PS4. Amazon Germany says that “Whether and when this item will be back in stock, is unknown.” That’s just one retailer but you get the point.

We expect the European release of the game to mirror the release in North America. If you’re in an European country looking to pre-order, you’ll need to be on your toes. We expect shortages though we also expect Bethesda and its retail partners to offer occasional stock and occasional stock updates.

Few Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition Deals

Given the demand for this game, there’s little incentive for retailers to offer Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition deals. We’ve seen one deal emerge thus far, a 20% off discount at Best Buy available to Gamers Club Unlocked members, and that’s it. We wouldn’t expect to see much more than that between now and the game’s release. Point being that you shouldn’t hesitate to pre-order.

We’re not expecting many deals. In fact, we’re expecting to see absurd Fallout 4 Pip Boy Edition prices emerge at places like eBay as people try to capitalize on the demand for the game. If you can snag the game for $120, we highly recommend pulling the trigger because we don’t expect too much fluctuation between now and November.

Fallout 4 Release Date

Fallout 4 Release Date

Ahead of yesterday's announcements, the feeling around the web was that the Fallout 4 release date would land sometime in 2015 as opposed to 2016. We kept our fingers crossed and yesterday, Bethesda confirmed the exciting news.

The Fallout 4 release date for PC, Xbox One and PS4 is confirmed for November 10th, a date that falls right smack in the middle of the holiday shopping season. Obviously, the timing is key for those planning to buy the game for themselves and the timing is also big for those that are already thinking about gifts for friends and family.

Bethesda waited a number of years to deliver the game and a release date so we're not expecting this Fallout 4 release date to budge. The game and the developer look like they're ready to get their brand new installment out on shelves and there's no reason to be skeptical. You can expect November 10th to stick.

Not exactly. Peter Hines has said MULTIPLE times on twitter that this is the last batch of Pip-boys. Sure, some might open open infrequently from cancellations, but there will not be any more additional allotments to stores, No more batches.

This was the last time Pip-boy will be in stock. Peter said that the factories refused to produce more
