The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out continues in the United States as regional carrier U.S. Cellular quietly has made the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update available for its version of the Samsung’s former big-screen flagship.
Last month, Samsung began rolling out the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to users outside of the United States. Samsung and U.S. based carriers typically don’t confirm release dates so Galaxy Note 2 users in the United States were forced to rely on a leaked document from Best Buy that proposed release dates for several carriers in late November.
Those release dates, however, did not prove fruitful as carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon all missed their supposed Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 release dates. The situation was further complicated by the Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 roll out in Canada, Canada typically sees software roll out right around the time that the U.S. sees it, and a listing on Samsung’s website that shows the AT&T Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean being on board. The AT&T Galaxy Note 2 update is not out.
One carrier that did not appear on the leaked document was U.S. Cellular, the nation’s fifth largest carrier and a carrier that was the only one to confirm Android 4.3 updates for its devices. U.S. Cellular announced in October that it would be rolling out Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 updates in the coming weeks and the carrier has seemingly delivered on that promise.
The U.S. Cellular Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update becomes the third and final Android 4.3 update to roll out, something that has been confirmed by a listing on the carrier’s website and thru Samsung. U.S. Cellular doesn’t go into detail about the update but Samsung does, noting several of the features that will be on board once the update is installed.
- Galaxy Gear Compatibility
- Premium Suite Features
- PEN. UP
- Group Play 2.5
- Multi-Window (Note 3 Version)
- Camera – Sound & Shot
- Group Messaging
- Samsung Link Preload
- New Easy Mode
- Samsung Apps
We assume that this change log will span across carriers and that all Galaxy Note 2 models will receive these features when their updates arrive. That isn’t confirmed, but is likely.
This roll out means that there are still three remaining. The AT&T Galaxy Note 2 Android 4,3 update, the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update and the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update. None of them have release dates though Samsung continues to suggest that the AT&T Galaxy Note 2 has Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board. Samsung lists the T-Mobile and Verizon Galaxy Note 2 models as running Android 4.1 which is accurate.
