Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Heats Up as Pre-Orders Begin

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date continues to heat up as Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders begin in the United States and in the United Kingdom ahead of the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 4 release in October.

Back on September 3rd, Samsung took the stage in Berlin, Germany and announced a number of new products including its new Gear S watch, the new Gear VR virtual reality headset, a new Galaxy Note Edge with a curved display, and of course, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the oft-rumored replacement for the Galaxy Note 3.

On stage, Samsung outlined all of the Galaxy Note 4 specs including its 5.7-inch Quad HD display, its brand new 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, its new S Pen, its Android 4.4.4 KitKat software that’s backed by TouchWiz, its new design that comes with both plastic and metal materials, and a whole lot more. Samsung also confirmed the Galaxy Note 4 release for October though it did not provide specifics.

For a couple of weeks, Samsung and its carrier partners remained silent, even as the Galaxy Note 4 release date made progress behind the scenes. Earlier this week, the fifth and final U.S. bound Galaxy Note 4 model passed through the FCC and we had a sneaking suspicion that an announcement for the United States was going to be close. And yesterday, as if on cue, Samsung and its partners went live with a ton of information for the United States.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date for the U.S. is confirmed for October 17th and today, AT&T and Verizon started taking pre-orders for the upcoming flagship. T-Mobile will start taking pre-orders on September 24th followed by Sprint on September 26th. U.S. Cellular, the other Galaxy Note 4 carrier, isn’t talking about pre-orders just yet.

Today also marks the start of Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders in the United Kingdom. Select Samsung stores across the UK are now taking pre-orders ahead of the Galaxy Note 4’s release date which is now confirmed for October 10th. That date falls a week ahead of the U.S. release date and several weeks after the Galaxy Note 4’s rumored September 26th release in Korea and China.

It also looks like select retailers will begin taking Galaxy Note 4 pre-orders in the United Kingdom on September 26th, a pre-order that coincides with Apple’s plans for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Galaxy Note 4 release date details are finally heating up though they come on a day when Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to the world. The company’s two brand new iPhones are now on sale in select countries around the world with another huge iPhone 6 release date planned for September 26th. That secondary iPhone 6 release includes smaller U.S. carriers and a number of different countries.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pose maybe the biggest threat to the success to the Galaxy Note 4 though the device will also have to contend with the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, New Moto X, LG G3, and countless others on the market. Fortunately, Samsung’s upcoming flagship comes packed with features that it hopes will attract buyers in the United States.

The Galaxy Note 4 specs include its 5.7-inch Quad HD display, its brand new 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, its new S Pen, its Android 4.4.4 KitKat software that’s backed by TouchWiz, its new design that comes with both plastic and metal materials, and a whole lot more. Thanks to these features and the bundled S Pen, the Galaxy Note 4 is priced at $299.99 on-contract across carriers in the United States.

This price point matches the base model of the iPhone 6 Plus but it’s $100 more expensive than the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

My almost 2 year-old Note 2 has a 128 gig micro sd card in it, and sees the full formatted capacity. I don’t know why the specs on brand new phones are saying that it only supports 64 gig micro sd cards.
