Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Launch Date
This week has seen a bit of controversy regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 launch date.
Earlier this week, a report from Korean outlet WhoWired Korea made the rounds and it outlined some potential Galaxy Note 5 launch details.
At the time, the publication claimed that Samsung would expedite the Galaxy Note 5 release in an effort to combat the rumored iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The report claimed that the company planned to finalize the Galaxy Note 5 in June and start taking pre-orders soon after. The publication also said that the launch would coincide with the arrival of Samsung Pay, Samsung’s Apple Pay competitor that was unveiled alongside the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
It seems Samsung heard about the report because according to a new report from WhoWired Korea, Samsung’s J.K. Shin put that rumor to rest.
It's not very often that we see companies comment on a rumored device so the fact that Shin flat out denied the rumor speaks volumes.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note series has always arrived at the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany and Galaxy Note 5 launch date rumors have put the launch at IFA 2015.
SamMobile, a credible source, is the latest source to affirm this timing. And with IFA 2015 kicking off on September 4th, there’s a good chance that we’ll see the device land in and around that date. Things could change but at this point, we wouldn't bet on anything else.
