We could go on and on about the camera, features, software, updates and more, but the last important aspect a buyer will look at is the price tag. The Galaxy Note 5 is an expensive device. At the same time, the Nexus 6 is Google's most expensive Nexus to date, but still cheaper. Here's the breakdown. We used AT&T, but pricing may vary by carrier.

  • Moto Nexus 6 32GB - $499 from Google (AT&T $598 or $149)
  • Moto Nexus 6 64GB - $549 from Google
  • Galaxy Note 5 32GB - $739 ($249 on contract)
  • Galaxy Note 5 64GB - $839 ($299 on contract)

As you can see the slightly bigger, not quite as powerful Nexus 6 is about $200 cheaper than the Galaxy Note 5. If you buy it from carriers the difference varies, but the Note 5, no matter how you get it, will cost more. Most carriers do offer payment plans though, but these are just the hard numbers for potential buyers.
