Galaxy Note 9 vs Galaxy S9+: Battery & Charging

We mentioned the size of the battery in the specs breakdown, but this is important enough that we need to go over it again. Personally, this is the single biggest reason people will (or should) buy the Galaxy Note 9.

This year Samsung went from 3,300 mAh in the Galaxy Note 8 to a massive 4,000 mAh battery. That's bigger than the 3,500 mAh battery in the Galaxy S9+, and bigger than any Note ever released. Making the Note 9 last longer than any Samsung phone yet.

That's worth waiting for, and worth the upgrade.

Additionally, they introduced a new 15w "faster" wireless charging technology. The iPhone X wireless charging is slow because it only uses 7.5 watts of power. Samsung phones do "fast wireless charging" with 10 watts, but the new Galaxy Note 9 does it at 15w and has the fastest wireless charging on the market. Between a huge battery and faster charging, you'll want one.

On the downside, we still only have Quick Charge 2.0 on the Note 9, while most phones from 2018 have QC 3.0 or even 4.0. That just lets the phones recharge faster.
