Galaxy S10 vs OnePlus 7 Pro: Specs

Another area of importance for most buyers are the specs and features of a phone. Luckily, these are two of the most powerful phones released throughout 2019, with very similar internals. Here are the numbers. We'll only list the S10+, but the regular S10 is very similar, only with a 6.1-inch screen and less RAM.

Galaxy S10+ Specs

  • 6.4-inch 3040 x 1440 Quad-HD AMOLED Curved Display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Samsung Exynos Processor
  • 128, 512, or 1TB of internal storage (MicroSD slot included)
  • 8-12GB of RAM
  • Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI
  • Triple Rear Cameras: 12, 12, 16MP (Regular variable aperture, telephoto, and super wide-angle) Main 12MP Dual Pixel will still have OIS, 960 FPS slo-mo, and more
  • Dual 8 and 10MP front-facing camera inside the screen (top right corner)
  • In-Display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the glass near the bottom
  • IP68 dust & water resistance (5ft for 30 minutes)
  • 4,100 mAh battery with Fast & Wireless Charging, and reverse charging
  • Always-On Display, 3D Emoji (like animoji)
  • Samsung Pay, Bixby Virtual Assistant, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, more

OnePlus 7 Pro Specs

  • 6.67-inch 3120 x 1440 Quad HD+ Super AMOLED (90Hz refresh rate) Display with curved edges (like an S10)
  • Snapdragon 855 Processor with 6-12GB of RAM
  • 128 or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage, no microSD slot
  • Triple 48MP f/1.6 OIS + 8MP f/2.4 telephoto zoom with OIS + 16MP Ultra-wide angle PDAF sensor
  • 16 Megapixel f/2.0 front-facing Pop-up selfie camera (and yes, it’s durable)
  • Android 9 Pie
  • Screen Fingerprint Unlock
  • 4,000 mAh battery with Super Fast Charging 30W Warp charging
  • Dual Stereo Speakers (finally)
  • Splash-Resistance (but no IP rating)
  • BT 5.0, NFC, 4G LTE, alert slider, NO 3.5mm headphone jack
  • 5G Technology and more

As you can see, these are two very similar phones under the hood. However, it's worth noting that the Galaxy S10 has water-resistance, wireless charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD slot to expand storage. We don't get any of those on the OnePlus 7 Pro, although they're teasing the phone is water-resistant without saying it.

Furthermore, OnePlus beat Samsung to the punch and the 7 Pro has 128 or 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. That's the type of storage chips inside the device, and they're incredibly fast, up to 10x faster than traditional storage. Samsung wanted to be the first to offer this in a phone with the Galaxy Fold, but we all know how that went.

It's great to finally see a big 4,000 mAh battery in a OnePlus phone, so that's a plus. That will be an important spec if they want to match the 4,100 mAh battery in the Galaxy S10+. We heard rumors of a 4,150 mAh battery and wish they were true, but nope, it's only 4,000 mAh.

Either way, these are fast, powerful and capable devices you'll absolutely love. You'll simply have to decide which screen and notch design you like the most, and if those extra features mentioned moments are are worth paying a higher price for the S10 Plus. A much higher price.

I had high hopes for the One Plus, but missing wireless charging, headphone jack and not being waterproof are a deal break for me.

I have an S8 and the S10+ will be my next phone.
