At CES 2013 in Las Vegas, we saw what potentially could be the Samsung Galaxy S4 processor revealed in the form of the Exynos 5 Octa, a powerful new processor courtesy of Samsung itself. All of the rumors thus far about the Samsung Galaxy S4 point to it sporting a full HD 1080p display. We’ve heard that the display size will be around 4.99-5-inches in size, on par with many of the larger screens that we’ve seen arrive on flagship Android handsets in the past few months.

The Galaxy S4 could feature an FHD display as Samsung showed off the tech at CES.

Unsurprisingly, such a screen emerged at CES 2013 in the form of a 4.99-inch FHD display, a display that Anandtech caught wind of at the trade show. The display, which again falls into the size-range of the rumored Galaxy S4 display is said to be Full HD 1080P with 440PPI. Those are dead-on with rumors that we’ve heard about the Galaxy S4 display and it’s possible that this is the technology that we’ll see on board the flagship when it arrives.

What’s more is that Samsung says the display will be ready to go in the first half of 2013, the same time frame that the Galaxy S4 release date has been pegged for. Thus far, we’ve heard that Samsung may be announcing the Galaxy S4 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of February. We’ve also heard that a launch could come later. However, all rumors have suggested that a first half launch is in order, same as the Galaxy S3, which arrived in May of 2012.

We’ve heard from one accessory maker who expects that the Galaxy S4 will launch in the first quarter of this year.

The Galaxy S4 is also rumored to have some other interesting features as well. It’s rumored to have a 13MP camera and Android Jelly Bean or Key Lime Pie, and it’s also suspected to have a quad-core processor. Samsung announced its new Exynos 5 Octa at CES 2013 and it could be the chip that is found inside the Galaxy S4 when it touches down on shelves.

Samsung also showed off a flexible display at CES 2013 though that technology isn’t expected to arrive until much later down the road.
