Very Important Galaxy S6 Details Leak

Published

on

New and extremely important Samsung Galaxy S6 details appear to have leaked ahead of the device’s launch date on March 1st at Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, Spain.

For a number of weeks now, we’ve seen Galaxy S6 rumors tackle some of the most important aspects of Samsung’s Next Big Thing. We’ve seen rumors address the Galaxy S6 specs and features that Samsung will be using in its fight against the iPhone 6, HTC One M9 and others. We’ve seen Galaxy S6 design leaks and photos out the look of Samsung’s redesigned flagship.

Rumors have also taken a look at the Galaxy S6 price and the Galaxy S6 release date, two of the most important pieces of information for potential buyers in the U.S. and around the world.

In the buildup to the Samsung Galaxy S6 release, we continue to see very important information leak and today, we’re getting another glimpse at two more key details.

Storage and color are two key pieces to any smartphone. Early Galaxy S6 rumors have centered on four colors and six Galaxy S6 variants. A new leak from German publication Samsung Lounge has helped the Galaxy S6 storage and Galaxy S6 colors to firm up ahead of Samsung’s big announcement.

The leak shows off six different Galaxy S6 variants in four different colors. Samsung will reportedly release two Galaxy S6 models, a regular version and a Galaxy S6 Edge, that come in three different storage sizes: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. This is similar to Apple’s iPhone 6 lineup (16GB, 64GB and 128GB) but much different than last year’s Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 came in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB though the 16GB was the only one adopted by U.S. carriers.

This year, internal storage could be important. The Galaxy S6 is expected to feature a new design that offers both glass and metal. New alleged Galaxy S6 photos point to the lack of a microSD card slot, a potential casualty of Samsung’s new design language. While it’s not confirmed, the arrival of three storage sizes would help to offset the missing microSD card slot.

This leak also points to four different color options. A green Galaxy S6, a gold Galaxy S6, a black Galaxy S6, and a white Galaxy S6. The white model is also expected to feature hints of gold. It’s still not clear if Samsung will release all of these colors at once or if it will use a staggered approach like it has in years past.

With this information now lining up, here’s what the Samsung Galaxy S6 release could look like:

  • Samsung Galaxy S6 32 GB: 749 euros ($849 USD)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 64GB: 849 euros ($963 USD)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 128 GB: 949 euros ($1,706 USD)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 32 GB: 849 euros ($973 USD)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 64 GB : 949 euros ($1073 USD)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge 128 GB : 1049 euros ($1173 USD)

U.S. pricing tends to be different from international pricing. We still haven’t seen any Galaxy S6 price information emerge for the United States though we could see Samsung and its carrier partners opt to announce official details on Sunday.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to be a significant departure from previous Galaxy S releases including the Galaxy S5. The device is expected to feature a new design in addition to heavily upgraded specifications including tweaked TouchWiz software over Android 5.0 Lollipop. The company is also rumored to have stripped down TouchWiz to improve performance.

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 release date is heavily rumored for March or April and we’ve already see one U.S. carrier confirm its debut for Spring 2015. Earlier this week, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile all confirmed the Galaxy S6 release with AT&T noting that the device is expected to arrive in the Spring. Spring 2015 begins on March 20th.

Galaxy S6 release date rumors have yet to nail down a specific date though rumors have hinted at windows in late March and late April for an initial release. A more recent Galaxy S6 release rumor points to a release inside India during the second week of April after a lengthy pre-order process.
