“How can I delete my Snapchat account?” is a very common question as users no longer need to access to the service or simply need to clean up a online profile. You can delete a Snapchat account in a minute or less in the app or on the Snapchat website.
Once you delete your Snapchat account you will not be able to send snaps or receive new Snapchat messages in the app. After you tell Snapchat to delete the account there is a 30 day window that you can log back in and reactivate your account. After 30 days the Snapchat account is permanently deleted.
If you need a short break from Snapchat, you can just uninstall the app. If you want to delete your Snapchat account this is what you need to do.
How to Delete Your Snapchat Account
This process takes less than a minute and you can un-delete your account for up to 30 days. After that you will need to make a new Snapchat account.
- Open Snapchat and tap on the ghost icon at the top of the camera.
- Tap on the gear in the upper right.
- Scroll down and tap on Support.
- Type Delete into the search box.
- Tap on Delete an Account.
- Enter your Snapchat password and then continue.
- Tap on Delete My Account to deactivate your Snapchat account.
If you prefer, you can also go to this Snapchat Support page – https://support.snapchat.com/delete-account – and enter your Snapchat username and password to delete your account.
Once this is done your Snapchat account will go inactive. It remains this way for 30 days. Log back in to it online or in the Snapchat app to reactivate it. If you don’t login for 30 days it will disappear for good.
