The Star Wars: The Force Awakens release date arrives on Thursday, and fans who want to show their excitement can use a one click tool to create a Facebook Star Wars lightsaber photo for their profile picture.
A new free Facebook tool offers an option to let you add a glowing lightsaber to your profile picture to show that you are a fan of Star Wars.
The new tool showed up on Facebook on Monday, and is an option underneath photos from users who already tried the free picture changing app or by using the guide below.
“Change your profile picture to show you’re a fan of Star Wars Movies.” commands the text on this new Star Wars: The Force Awakens tool on Facebook.
To get started click through to this option to add a Facebook lightsaber photo to your profile. You can preview, change the base photo and you can also set this to automatically revert to your previous profile photo after one week.
The post says, “Awaken the Force within by adding Finn’s lightsaber to your profile picture.”
Simply clicking to try out the Star Wars Facebook lightsaber profile photo will not change it automatically, so you can experiment with the size and placement of the photo before you make it public.
Click on Change Picture to switch to a profile photo that is better suited to a lightsaber on top of it. Ideally you want this lightsaber to cover part of your face. Use the slider to control how big your face is in the photo.
The options on the left side allow you to choose a Star Wars option that uses a T-shaped lightsaber that we saw in trailers last year. The right option is for Star Wars: The Force Awakens with a with a bright blue lightsaber.
In the bottom right choose when to revert to your previous profile picture. Options include 1 Hour, 1 Day, 1 Week or Never.
