There is now some new rumored information for two un-announced HTC smartphones, one destined for Verizon Wireless and the second for T-Mobile USA in the U.S. The Windows Phone 8-powered HTC Accord, which is also known by the HTC 8X moniker, is said to be in testing for Verizon’s 4G LTE network while the HTC One X+ is said to have been delayed for release on T-Mobile.
According to a source to HTC Source, the HTC 8X is currently being tested for Verizon’s network and the phone will feature an 8-megapixel rear camera. Unlike HTC’s Android flagship One series, the Windows Phone 8X counterpart will not feature an advanced camera that includes HTC’s ImageSense chipset for burst mode or capturing a photo while recording video, but that the camera is capable of capturing ‘phenomenal photos’ still. The source did say that the camera specs may change and Verizon and/or HTC could decide to add ImageSense and other features beyond the Microsoft specs for Windows Phone 8.
The phone will feature 16 GB of storage and said to be very smooth in operations now. Still, a lot could change and become even more optimized between now and when the device launches.
Regarding the Android-powered One X+, which would be an evolution of the AT&T One X, that device is said to have been delayed by T-Mobile, though the source say that there is no indication the phone has been cancelled right now. The device may be slightly thicker than the original One X to accommodate a larger battery, similar to Motorola’s Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR Maxx distinctions for Verizon.
The One X+ is described to be released with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is the most current version of Google’s mobile OS, alongside HTC Sense 4.5. The device may come with either 16 or 32 GB capacities for storage. HTC Sense 4.5 will come with some updated features, like a new Gallery app that aggregates photos from other cloud-based sources, like Facebook and Twitter, for example.
