HTC Android 4.3 & Sense 5 Updates Rumored

While HTC hasn’t confirmed anything yet, a noted insider says that the company is planning Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for the international HTC One as well as Sense 5.5 updates for the HTC One, HTC Butterfly S and the HTC One mini, a sign that a new version of Sense is indeed on the way.

Earlier this month, we first told you that HTC reaffirmed its intentions to get the HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update out to owners in the United States in September. Several weeks ago, we also learned that the HTC One Max, HTC’s upcoming large screen HTC One, would be coming with a new version of Sense in Sense 5.5. And now, we are getting even more details about HTC’s plans for both Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5.

HTC will apparently roll out Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 updates in the future.

HTC will apparently roll out Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5 updates in the future.

According to LlabTooFeR, HTC is planning an Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the United States and it will be the first Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to hit the HTC One. It apparently will be coming with Sense 5 and not the rumored Sense 5.5 update that is expected to land for other HTC devices in the future.

It appears that Sense 5.5 rumors were accurate as the leakster says that the update will be coming to several current devices including the international HTC One, the Butterfly S and the One mini.

The international HTC One Android 4.3 update will evidently bring Sense 5.5 on board, unlike the update in the United States. He claims that the Sense 5.5 updates will come after the release of the HTC One Max which is expected to take place sometime in the fourth quarter, no specific date known. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know what will be on board Sense 5.5 when it arrives as HTC is apparently doing a great job at keeping its contents a secret.

It’s clear that Sense 5.5 will debut on the HTC One Max, HTC’s Galaxy Note 3 competitor, it’s just not clear what advantages it might have on board when it does land.

Keep in mind, these are not confirmations, but given his track record, don’t be surprised if HTC’s update plans turn out to be similar to these rumors.

The leakster doesn’t mention any other devices, something that doesn’t clear up the post Android 4.2 Jelly Bean situation for devices like the HTC One X+ and the HTC One X, both of which may be left behind on Android 4.2 and Sense 5.

Is there any indication as to when specifically the HTC One Developer Edition will be upgraded to Sense 5.5?
