While it should come as no surprise that the HTC EVO 4G and the HTC ThunderBolt would be getting Gingerbread at some point, the news that it will be coming before the end of June should certainly come as a pleasant revelation.
According to a report from UnwiredView, the HTC ThunderBolt will be getting the update sometime in Q2 which aligns perfectly with the whispering we had heard at the end of March. The big news here is the HTC EVO 4G window that was apparently confirmed by an HTC rep who stated that barring any setbacks, both phones would get the update by the end of June.
Currently, Android 2.3 only sits on 2 devices, Google’s Nexus S and Nexus One. Android 2.3 is expected to also hit the Motorola Droid X, Droid 2 and HTC Droid Incredible.
The update has already been leaked for the Motorola devices.
