HTC Flyer Available Now For $900, Wi-Fi Only For $800
Remember that HTC Flyer tablet that HTC introduced back in February at the Mobile World Congress and said would be launching in Q2? You know, the one that has been rumored to be hitting T-Mobile at some point in the future?
Ring a bell?
Well, since Mobile World Congress, it has been available for pre-order from various retailers in Europe including Amazon’s German and UK sites, but as Wireless Goodness points out, the prices are not favorable to customers in the United States with the shipping costs and exchange rates.
Cue a website called Popular Electronics that is offering the HTC Flyer for a flat $900. The company will eat the shipping costs and it will apparently ship it to you in 3-5 days. Now obviously, that’s a still a pretty steep price, but for those in the U.S. that want the Flyer, this looks like the best offer.
However, as the report states, Popular Electronics doesn’t specify which bands this thing runs on. A quick look at the Flyer support page reveals that it runs AWS WCDMA bands meaning it’s compatible with T-Mobile’s 3G network.
For those that don’t want 3G or the 32GB of space, eBay already has the Wi-Fi only version of the HTC Flyer up for pre-order right now for $800.
While we don’t recommend going through 3rd party retailers, especially since the Flyer has yet to be officially released here in the U.S., this appears to be a legitimate way of getting hands-on before it’s released in the United States.
Update: Updated for clarification. These are pre-orders. The HTC Flyer launches sometime this spring.

i am surprized at this article. It is very bogus as these are preorder prices. The devices are not available. They are available for pre-order. Big difference.. Availabe means to obtain and have in your possesion.

My fault for not including that these were pre-order prices. But, they are indeed -available- right -now- to order at these prices.

I literally exclaimed “WHAT!?” upon reading the headline, but then found that these are PRE-ORDER prices.
I’ll wait ’til I see the Flyer in US stores, MSRP and all.
