HTC One Android 4.3 Update Roll Out Begins

The HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update roll out has seemingly begun in Taiwan, just a few weeks after the company rolled out the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update to its flagship smartphone and just a few weeks before Google is set to debut a new Android update, Android 4.4 KitKat.

All signs have pointed to an HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in the near future and today, that update started to roll out to users in Taiwan, HTC’s home base. This is how HTC Android updates typically begin. The company will roll out the software to users in Taiwan and then spread the software to customers around the world.

Carrier-branded devices are usually a little behind the unbranded devices which means that it could be a few days, weeks or even months before the roll out is completed.

Thanks to LlabTooFeR, we know what the HTC One Android 4.3 update changelog looks like. In addition to Android 4.3, the update will be bringing a new battery charging animation, improvement to color contrasts, and video highlights. It’s not going to be a game changing update like Android 4.4 and Sense 5.5 might be but it’s a nice update nonetheless.

HTC One owners in the United States are still waiting for Android 4.3 to roll out and it’s not clear if the update is going to touchdown in September. Yesterday, the company offered some new details but only to say that it was working hard with carriers to get the software certified for arrival. U.S. carriers can be difficult to work with when it comes to updates so it could take some time before the software is ready to go.

Check out these essential, but hidden, HTC One features.

The company initially said that it would be updating the HTC One and Droid DNA with Android 4.3 in September but the Droid DNA is looking like it will get Android 4.2 instead. The HTC One models appear set to still receive Android 4.3.

HTC’s roll out means that its flagship has beat the Samsung Galaxy S4 to Android 4.3. The Galaxy S4 is expected to get Android 4.3 alongside the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 in October.
