HTC One Android 4.4.2 KitKat update details continue to emerge and today as HTC One Developer Edition owners now know exactly when HTC will release the next version of Android 4.4 KitKat for their device.
Earlier this year, HTC rolled out several Android 4.4 KitKat updates. Among them, Android 4.4 KitKat for the HTC One Developer Edition, a device that the company said would get the update within 30 days of Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat announce on Halloween. HTC stuck to that promise and rolled out Android 4.4 KitKat within that window.
A few weeks later, Google rolled out Android 4.4.2 KitKat, a brand new update to Android 4.4 that brings, among other things, bug fixes for some of the issues plaguing Android 4.4 users. The update has rolled out to the HTC One Google Play Edition and HTC has also confirmed that it will be the update that lands for the HTC One on U.S. carriers in January. That update will also bring the new Sense 5.5.
Last week, we saw HTC confirm Android 4.4.2 for the HTC One Developer Edition though the company declined to offer a specific release date for its roll out. A short time ago, HTC’s Mo Versi confirmed timing for the HTC One Developer Edition Android 4.4.2 KitKat update, saying that the update will be released at some point in January.
He did not divulge exactly what will be on the update when it arrives but owners of the HTC One Developer Edition can assume that it will, at the very least, carry bug fixes along with it.

So, it would appear that HTC is planning to roll out this update, and the update for the carrier-branded HTC One, in the same month. The company still has not confirmed a specific release date for the HTC One on U.S. carriers, only saying that the update will roll out across AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon by the end of the month.
The update is also expected to land in Canada and in the United Kingdom by the end of January though no specific release dates for those regions are known.
