Verizon Confirms HTC One, Important Details Missing

After months of speculation, the Verizon HTC One has been confirmed for arrival today shortly after the device emerged in a set of rumors that seemed to confirm its upcoming arrival.

In a tweet, Verizon has confirmed what many hopeful customers have been waiting for, a Verizon version of the HTC One, a device that has been rumored for months.

Indeed, the Verizon HTC One is set for arrival but the carrier is still mum on the details, only saying that it will be coming out this summer for the carrier’s 4G LTE network. The carrier does not confirm a specific date nor does it confirm any specific pricing for the HTC One. We imagine that it will arrive in 32GB for $199.99 but at this point, it’s just speculation.

The HTC One is heading to Verizon.

This is of course fantastic news for those that have been waiting for the device’s confirmation, something that Verizon failed to do back at CTIA 2013 in Las Vegas. And while consumers would have loved for Verizon to have dished the pertinent details, including release date and pricing, the announcement itself is still a good consolation prize.

Rumors have pointed to an arrival in June of this year, perhaps late June, which of course falls in line with Verizon’s summer release date. No specific date has been mentioned which means that the month is still up in the air.

As for the device, we expect it to be on par with the other models which means that it should have a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, Ultrapixel camera, metal design and more. It also should have Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, something that the other devices currently don’t have, but are expected to get sometime in the days ahead.

The HTC One joins the Samsung Galaxy S4 on Verizon’s 4G LTE network, the largest in the United States, and it will be a solid option going forward for those looking to snag an Android phone in the United States.
