There have been times where it has seemed like the Verizon HTC One might be getting close. The device passed through regulatory bodies and we even saw an August 1st release date crop up. The Verizon HTC One release still hasn’t arrived but as evidence mounts, it’s clear that the day many consumers have been waiting for is near.
The Verizon HTC One launch has been a remarkable one for all of the wrong reasons. Verizon launched the device two months after its competitors. It has been two months now since that announcement and we haven’t seen an official announcement confirming a release date, pricing and features.
For those that want this phone, the lack of details has lead to an agonizing wait but it looks like sweet relief might be coming soon. Multiple sources have pegged the HTC One Verizon release date for August with August 15th emerging as a viable candidate. Earlier today, we saw more Verizon HTC One details take shape as Verizon appears set to launch a blue HTC One.
And while prospective buyers certainly have reason to be skeptical, today, we’re seeing some more details trickle out, details that seem to point to an imminent HTC One launch on Verizon.
HTC’s Facebook and Twitter accounts have been dealing with a daily assault from consumers interested in the HTC One. Unlike some social media accounts, HTC has chosen to engage all of these questions with answers that for the most part have been unremarkable. However, today, we noticed that the HTC Facebook account claimed that the “wait shouldn’t be much longer.”
Whether this is HTC trying to keep a customer on board with the phone is not clear but this is the first time we’ve seen HTC use this language. Typically the company offers a more generic response about its summer release and patience.
While this is encouraging, it’s also encouraging to see Verizon teasing the HTC One amongst an assortment of its other devices. The carrier posted a teaser on its page promoting its Share Anything plan and right there in the top left is the HTC One itself. From the looks of things, it doesn’t have any absurd Verizon branding so it looks like the press image that we saw emerge several weeks ago is the real deal.
Neither of these confirms a specific date but they should provide prospective buyers with some hope for the future. And with August 15th coming up fast, we actually might see an announcement emerge soon.
