HTC One X Gets Its First Update

While the HTC One X just got its official release date for AT&T, the device has been out for a few weeks now elsewhere in the world. And now, the international version of the device has received its first Over-the-Air update that brings quite a bit along with it.

Android Central has confirmed that the international version of the One X has received a software update, a 30MB update that brings the phone’s software version up to 1.28.401.9.

The phone remains on Android 4.0.3.

The update can be pulled from the device’s settings and those that have a carrier branded version of the device may have to wait a bit longer than those who are on an unbranded model.

Carriers have to approve updates and sometimes that can take awhile.

As for the update itself, the main thing that the update is supposed to fix is the battery life issue that many One X owners have been complaining about for the couple of weeks the device has been around.

It should also eliminate an oddly placed on-screen menu key and fix some of the issues that had been going on inside the phone’s navigation bar.

Screen brightness has apparently been toned down a bit as well.

Users are also reporting a better signal with the phone’s radio.

So, overall, it looks like it’s a pretty good update, even if it’s extremely small.

In fact, it’s so good, that we hope that AT&T includes the software on its model which will be launching next month on May 6th.
