Almost two weeks after HTC missed the roll out window for both the HTC ThunderBolt Ice Cream Sandwich update and the Droid Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich update, owners of both devices are still without the updates and still without answers.
HTC originally promised to roll out the HTC ThunderBolt and Droid Incredible 2 Ice Cream Sandwich updates by the end of August. However, once the end of August came around, the updates were no where to be found, and HTC was left apologizing to owners for missing the update window.
The company, at the time, said that it was working with Verizon on both of the updates and that it would share news once it had news to share.
Eleven days have gone by since that time and HTC still has not provided any kind of clarification about the status of the updates, if they are even still rolling out, or a release date if they are.
Instead, owners have waited in silence for answers.
This is similar to what happened with the HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich update though HTC was much quicker in getting that update out to Rezound owners. Once HTC missed the Rezound ICS update window, it took it about a week to get it out to owners.
The ThunderBolt and Droid Incredible 2 updates are now approaching the two week mark which is unprecedented territory for a promised Android update from HTC and maybe even unprecedented in the world of Android updates.
Both the ThunderBolt and the Droid Incredible 2 are joined by the Motorola Droid Bionic which has yet to see its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.
Hopefully, the answers come soon because as we’ve seen, owners of both the Droid Incredible 2 and HTC ThunderBolt are extremely frustrated by the company’s lack of detailed answers and really, the lack of Ice Cream Sandwich.
