New Amazon Kindle Fire 2 renders have surfaced showing off what the device would look like if current rumors and speculation proved to be true.

The Kindle Fire 2 renders were made by t3n, courtesy of Pocketnow, show off what Amazon’s rumored 7-inch Kindle Fire 2 might look like when and if it hits shelves.

Amazon is rumored to be launching a few new tablet devices this. One is rumored to be the 7-inch Kindle Fire 2, whose renders are seen here and the company is also rumored to possibly be announcing larger tablets that might employ screen sizes in the 8.9 and 10.1 inch range.

The Kindle Fire 2 is rumored to feature a 7-inch display with 1280 x 800 resolution, a metal frame and it will apparently have plastic construction.

This render shows the Kindle Fire 2 based on rumored specs.

Its other features are currently unknown but the arrival of the Nexus 7 will put pressure on Amazon to deliver a tablet that features current-generation specifications.

The render here prominently displays the device’s rumored metal frame, a front-facing camera for video chat and a rear camera on the back of the device’s frame.

It also appears to have two speakers positioned at the top.

It’s currently unknown when Amazon might be releasing the Kindle Fire 2 but speculation has Amazon potentially readying the new tablet for an August delivery, ahead of the Apple iPad Mini launch which might be taking place in October alongside the iPhone 5.

The Kindle Fire 2 is rumored to be keeping the same $199 price tag as the original Kindle Fire which would put it in direct competition with Google’s Nexus 7 which will be launching soon for the same price.

It’s unclear if Amazon plans to launch the Kindle Fire 2 first or if it will be launching several tablets at once.
