LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat Update Details Slip Away

Initially, French carrier SFR claimed that it thought that the LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update would roll out in either November or December of this year. However, just a few short days later, the carrier has retracted that information and instead claims to not have anything planned, something that could mean that LG G2 users will be waiting until next year for an Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Last month, Google announced the Android 4.4 KitKat update, an incremental update that brings several likeable features to the table and an update that has been confirmed for arrival by a number of Android manufacturers. HTC claims that the software will roll out to all of its HTC One models by the end of January. It has also confirmed updates for the HTC One and HTC One mini. Motorola is hard at work on a Moto X Android 4.4 KitKat update and has confirmed others. Even Sony has announced Android 4.4 KitKat updates.

However, LG and Samsung, have remained silent, leaving users in the dark about their plans. Fortunately, we’ve seen some information emerge for both companies though nothing is set in stone. In the case of LG, things just got even worse as the one detail we had heard about LG’s plans for an Android 4.4 KitKat update has, disappeared.

A few days ago, French carrier SFR released a roll out schedule for many of its software updates. Surprisingly, the company listed the LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update, an update that hasn’t been announced just yet. The carrier said that it was planning to roll out the software in November and December and up until a short time ago, that was the only piece of information that LG G2 owners had in regard to Android 4.4 KitKat.

SFR released a new schedule yesterday and unfortunately, the LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update has gone missing. Instead, the company has left a vague message indicating that it doesn’t have any updates planned. This is a complete 180 degree turn and it means that the LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update is now up in the air. We were a little surprised to see a French carrier confirm the update before LG so perhaps the confirmation, and timing, were a little premature.

This means that the LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update is now officially back in the shadows and it will likely be up to LG to make an announcement about the update when it’s ready.

It isn’t android (Google). it’s the manufacturers. google has already released 4.4 and it is already running on nexus devices. LG, Samsung, HTC, Motorola, and Sony, all take that update and mess with it for months so they can put their blur on it along with any apps they get paid to distribute.
      Dont blame android, blame them.

also, apple has no excuse. they make the phones and the software updates single handedly.

HAHAHA a single provider retracts information? They published information that they had no idea of and was pure speculation, then remove it because they realized they were making things up. This news story is as believable as the ban of all chocolate my local grocery stopped selling chocolate.
