LG V40 vs LG V30: Cameras

Here's where things really start to get interesting. LG wants to get ahead of the Huawei and Samsung competition, and they're doing that by releasing the LG V40 with five cameras. Not 3 or 4..... but 5 cameras.

Yes, you'll get three cameras on the rear and two on the front.

On the rear, you’ll get a regular 12MP camera that’s extremely capable. This has a fast f/1.5 aperture and OIS. Then, there’s a 107 degrees wide-angle 16MP camera and a 12MP 2x optical zoom telephoto lens. They’ve combined the best of both worlds into one. Offering their own signature feature while stealing one from the competition at the same time.

Oh, and the Triple Shot mode stitches together the images captured with each of the three lenses into a short video file for easy sharing. That’s neat.

The V30 has a decent 16MP main and 13MP wide-angle lens setup. So they're similar, you just have a faster main camera and a 3rd telephoto lens with the new V40. Then, with the V40 LG Added a second front camera for improved selfies, portrait selfie mode, and other effects.

Either way, if the camera is important to you wait for the LG V40 and get it instead of the LG V30.
