Straps & Customization

The Apple Watch was designed in a way that many 3rd party manufacturers could build accessories and different straps for the watch, and Apple offers tons of them as well. It's more customizable than most Android Wear watches, but the new Moto 360 has Apple Beat.

The Apple Watch has tons of different bands. This is important. Options such as leather, plastic, rubber, metal, and in tons of different shapes, colors and more. Even the clasps are all different. Some are magnets (like the Apple cover) and some are standard watch clasps or buckles. My favorite was the leather with magnets inside to fit any size wrist. That’s really nice.

The new Moto 360 though, can by customized completely. Users can pick the size, three colors for the body, three colors (and two textures) for the bezel or face, then a huge selection of straps. From leather, silicon rubber, to Stainless steel. There are over 400 possible combinations for the Moto 360. This means if customization is what you're after, or a different strap for different outfits, the Moto 360 is a good route.

It also features an easy-off latch to quickly replace the straps without having to deal with typical spring-loaded pins and risk losing one. Motorola made them easy to change, and that's something everyone can appreciate.

Because a watch has a round design, it does not make it a better watch or a better choice. It’s simply a personal preference. The flat tire feature is dreadful and it ruins the watch. More emphasis should have been made to better implement this sensor and not make it so distracting.

I feel like the sapphire screen would have been a big pro to bring up with the Apple Watch. It’s not a option for the Moto 360. It’s worth the extra $200 to many.
