Yeah, we're not really sure why Motorola made another Z3 when they only made such small changes. Basically, the Z3 is for those on Verizon, while the Z3 Play is for everyone else. 

The Moto Z3 is exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the United States. And while we could see a similar device eventually on Sprint, right now it looks like this is it. They will not release a "Force" model either. If you have Verizon and want a new Moto phone, the Z3 is your only choice. 

Motorola and Verizon have a partnership, and they have for years. This time around they made a Moto Z3 with the idea of adding the world's first 5G modem to the phone. Yes, in 2019 Verizon and the Moto Z3 will probably be the first device to connect to 5G services. That's faster than 4G, faster than LTE, and faster than your home internet. You can get a 5G MotoMod and use it with your Z3 on Verizon, and that's about it.
