Motorola Droid 4 Hands-on Video
Earlier today, Verizon announced the oft-rumored Motorola Droid 4 and while we still don’t know exactly when it’s going to be coming to shelves (Motorola and Verizon say in the coming weeks), we were able to go hands-on with it today at CES 2012.
The Droid 4 is the fourth incarnation of the original Droid and it replaces the Droid 3 which came out on the carrier’s 3G network back in July of 2011.
This latest Droid has two main features. The first is the laser-cut physical QWERTY keyboard that will surely delight keyboard enthusiasts of all backgrounds. This is one of the best physical keyboards to date and it blows keyboards like the one on the Samsung Stratosphere completely out of the water.
Seriously, it’s not even close.
It also features LED back-lighting and Motorola also went to great lengths to include things that people actually need. Gone is the function button and replacing it are useful keys like Caps Lock and Shift.
The other main feature of the Droid 4 is its 4G LTE radio, something that the Droid 3 did not have on board, which means it can grab data speeds up to 10 times faster than those found on regular old 3G.
Verizon’s latest Droid also boasts a sleek looking 4-inch qHD display and the thinnest form factor of any 4G LTE QWERTY smartphone on the market which made it a fantastic device to hold.
Android 2.3.5 performed admirably but the real test will be when it gets upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which Motorola says will be happening during Q2 of this year.
Overall, the Droid 4 appears to be a solid device amongst Verizon’s 4G LTE lineup but we’ll reserve final judgement until we can dig in further.

I love this phone. Does it support 3G too? (LTE is not available in my country for now)
