Motorola Droid Bionic Gets Rooted Ahead of Launch
Good news for those of you that are thinking about picking up a Motorola Droid Bionic when it arrives this month. No, the bootloader hasn’t been unlocked but for some, if not all of you, this news is probably just as good. It seems My Droid World has used the same method that was used to root the Motorola Droid 3 a short time ago on the Droid Bionic and voila, it worked like magic.
Not shocking, it was expected to work, but the confirmation should definitely still be music to your ears. Especially when we still have no idea when this phone is going to be hitting shelves, September 8th is all but confirmed, and we have no official pricing – $590 is likely going to be the full retail price – to speak of yet.
UPDATE: You can read our full Droid Bionic Review here.
Still, with all of the evidence pointing towards a release next week, we should see something official pop up very, very soon. Unless Verizon isn’t going to be taking pre-orders for this thing. In which case, it might not get announced until September 7th.
Anyway, root has been achieved for the Droid Bionic and it will be awaiting those of you who take the plunge next week.
