Motorola Trashes iOS 6 Maps in New Ad
In a new ad for its Motorola Droid RAZR M, Motorola trashes Apple’s new iOS Maps application which has come under fire recently for its bugs and lack of information.
The company posted the advertisement on its Google+ page and it shows an iPhone 5 running the iOS 6 Maps next to a Droid RAZR M running a version of Google Maps.
Underneath the iPhone 5, Motorola has included a hashtag that reads #iLost as the iOS 6 Maps application shown in the ad displays incorrect information in regards to directions to 315 Marlborough Rd. in New York City.

Motorola took a shot at iOS 6 Maps in a new ad for the Droid RAZR M.
In addition, the accompanying post goes even further saying:
Looking for 315 E 15th in Manhattan? Google Maps on DROID RAZR M will get you there & not #iLost in Brooklyn.
Motorola is just the latest iPhone 5 competitor to unleash an advertisement pitting its hardware against Apple’s new iPhone. Samsung recently released a new Galaxy S III advertisement that not only based iPhone users but also the iPhone 5 itself.
And while Samsung’s mockery was clear, it was much more subtle than Motorola who seemingly has no problem plastering the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 in its advertisements.
The phone that Motorola is touting against the iPhone 5 is the company’s Motorola Droid RAZR M, a $99 device that sports a 4.3-inch edge-to-edge display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Google Maps as its native maps application.

The Droid RAZR M is Motorola’s latest phone.
A stripped down version of Google Maps was also once the native maps application for the iPhone. However, with the arrival of iOS 6, Apple has replaced Google Maps with its own native Maps application, an application that has taken some heat in recent days.
Users of Apple’s new Maps application have found a host of bugs and mislabeled locations to go along with several missing features that were once standard in Google Maps.
Those missing features include lack of native transit maps and Street View, neither of which were built into Apple’s new Maps.
The company has promised that the Maps application will improve and it has even reportedly begun recruiting former employees who worked on Google’s Maps to help improve its own software.
When Apple might unleash an update for them remains to be seen.
