A twelve-minute video shows the New HTC One with a Micro SD card slot, new design and Sense 6, compared to the HTC One from 2013.
In a sometimes shaky and annoyingly narrated video a teen shows us the New HTC One that HTC is set to announce on March 25th in New York City and London.
This New HTC One video shows the HTC m8 on camera with a look at the New HTC One Camera as well as several other features. This phone appears to be an early test unit with a few issues, but the software is not likely final. The original HTC m8 video was pulled, likely after the user’s parents discovered his leak, but multiple copies remain.
Thanks to this New HTC One video we can share a huge amount of new information about this smartphone, well ahead of the release.
New HTC One Video
Watch this twelve minute New HTC One vs HTC One video to see what’s new on the HTC m8 (the model name for the New HTC One) and get a closer look at Sense 6. This is the biggest New HTC One leak yet.
While there was some damage control about this being a fake HTC m8 leak, this tweet by Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC leads us to believe this is the real new HTC One.
If it's gonna hit the fan, it might as well hit the fan while everyone is distracted by the #Oscars.

New HTC One vs HTC One Size Comparison
The New HTC One features a larger screen, which makes for a larger phone. The video doesn’t give exact New HTC One dimension, but we do get to see the New HTC One next to the HTC One.
The New HTC One features a 5-inch 1080P HD display according to leaks and the photo shows that this translates into a slightly larger phone, but not one that is incredibly bigger.
This leak shows a better look at the New HTC One design as well. We see a HTC BoomSound speakers on the front of the device, with an offset speaker grille at the top and a new placement for the sensors. The bottom shows the New HTC One without the touch buttons of the HTC One. When the phone is on we can see that HTC is using the on-screen buttons that Google builds into Android. This includes a dedicated multitasking button.
The back of the New HTC One is made of aluminum again, though it looks like brushed aluminum and is a much darker finish. The power button is now on the right side of the top of the phone, where it likely includes an IR blaster for controlling a HDTV still. The headphone jack is now on the bottom of the New HTC One. This is the same location as on the iPhone 5s, and may force users to change habits slightly.
New HTC One Feature
The leaked New HTC One video shows us several interesting New HTC One features. Here is a closer look at what we learned from this leak.
The New HTC One features a Micro SD card and support for an app to transfer files to the card. In the video we see the user transferring 400 files between the New HTC One and a Micro SD card. The card opening is accessible on the right side of the device, and it looks like users will need a SIM card ejection tool to get it out.
New HTC One Cameras and Camera App
The New HTC One comes with two cameras on the back and one camera on the front. This is one more camera than most smartphones. We also see a new flash to the left of the main camera, which appears to use two different color LED lights. The New HTC One also includes a different camera app that is part of Sense 6. Here is a closer look at the New HTC One camera. In the video the camera app is laggy and crashes, but it is best to disregard this as the software is likely not final.
The video doesn’t show what the second camera is used for, though leaks suggest it may allow users to take a photo that the user can refocus later.
Like the Galaxy line of phones, the New HTC One features a dual-capture mode that combines the front and back cameras to deliver a composite photo. We also see the return of the Zoe camera which combines a video and several photos with one touch of the shutter and a new Selfie mode. It’s not clear what the New HTC One Selfie mode is, but it likely makes optimizations to take a better picture of the face with the front facing camera.
We don’t get to see any sample photos, nor does the video reveal the details about each camera.
HTC Sense 6
In this video we get a closer look at HTC Sense 6, but not a full reveal. In the video we get a look at a new BlinkFeed as well as some interfaces and features.
The new BlinkFeed in Sense 6 looks like a slight visual upgrade and we don’t learn if there are new features. The video also shows Sense 6 launcher complete with the pull down settings menu that is reportedly customizable. This also shows a Do Not Disturb mode, which arrived first with Sense 5.5.
We expect to see Sense 6 arrive as an update for the HTC One sometime this year. The New HTC One should arrive at a launch in late March. The New HTC One will likely come to the major U.S. carriers and while no price is announced expect to see a similar price to the HTC One launch price. The Samsung Galaxy S5 release comes two weeks after the new HTC One event, and could put pressure on HTC to offer a HTC One release in early April as well.
