Nexus 5X vs Galaxy S6: Software

One big factor that will go into any buyers decision is probably the software. Both phones have fingerprint scanners for better security, wireless payments, easier log-in and more, but Samsung's done it for years, while this is Google's first attempt.

The more important aspect of software though, is Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the Nexus 5X and the promise of fast updates, vs the bloated Samsung Touchwiz that covers the year-old Android 5.1 Lollipop on the Galaxy S6. Samsung will likely push updates to Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon, hopefully before the end of the year, but owners of the Nexus 5X will be able to enjoy all the latest and greatest. Things like Google Now on Tap, permission controls, Android Pay, and more.

And while Samsung has similar tools, it is covered in a skin that some love, and many hate. Software is a toss up, but if you enjoy pure Android the Nexus 5X is the logical choice.
