Photos Hint At Google Nexus 10 from Samsung

Published

The rumored Google Nexus 10, made by Samsung could be close to release according to an Android and Me report.

The Android publication found several photos on Picasa list a Nexus 10 as the camera. The photos come from a Google employee and a Samsung employee. One photo’s EXIF data shows the employee captured the photo on October 15, 2012. It is possible to falsify EXIF data, but it does seem coincidental that employees from both companies would upload photos with similar information.

Google could announce the 10-inch Nexus tablet at its Android event on October 29. The even will likely also feature the LG Nexus 4 and any other rumored Nexus smartphones.

The rumored Samsung Nexus 10 will likely feature a 2560×1600 resolution which would give it a higher pixel density than the Retina Display in the new iPad. The tablet will use some form of Samsung’s Exynos 5 processor which is the same one used the new Samsung Chromebook.

The high-end tablet will likely sell for around the same price as an iPad. Larger Android tablets don’t usually sell well against Apple’s iPad, but that hasn’t stopped manufacturers from trying to compete against the iPad before.

Google’s last tablet attempt, the Google Nexus 7, sold well shortly after launch. Asus couldn’t keep up with demand for the 7-inch tablet. The closest competitor at its launch, however, was the 7-inch Kindle Fire which was several months old at that point,

If Google and Samsung don’t launch the Nexus 10 this month Android fans will likely have to wait until sometime next year for a high-end Nexus tablet.
