Purported Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Image Leaks with Specs

Another purported render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has emerged alongside some of the upcoming phablet’s rumored specifications.

GSMArena has posted a new render that it claims could be the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. And while it certainly looks to be more plausible than the last alleged render that leaked out, there is only a very slim possibility that this is Samsung’s upcoming successor to the original Galaxy Note.

The render also lost credibility after the source could not verify the render’s origins.

This render likely isn’t the Galaxy Note 2.

However, fake or not, the render does resemble what we’ve been expecting from the Samsung Galaxy Note 2’s design. A previous rumor stated that the device would resemble the Samsung Galaxy S III which sports a design that houses curves and was inspired by nature.

That rumor stands unfounded as we have yet to see the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 officially leak out leaving the device in the shadows ahead of its August 29th unveiling.

In addition to the render, some specifications have surfaced as well.

Apparently, the Galaxy Note 2 will come with a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. A full HD display was supposedly tested but did not fare well in battery tests.

The device is also rumored to have an 8MP rear camera, a quad-core Exynos processor, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich though Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is still possible.

It’s certainly possible that these are dead on as they most add up with what we’ve heard about the Galaxy Note 2. We’ve also heard that the device may have a flexible display that would allow Samsung to pack in a bigger battery.

However, because Samsung has kept such a tight lid on the Galaxy Note 2 thus far, we don’t expect to know anything for sure until August 29th rolls around.
