Apple is positioning the 2018 Mac Mini as a workhorse for creatives, but that's not all. Apple also sees this s a device that you can use for a variety of purposes. Some of the suggested uses include;
- Build and Render Farms for Xcode or Video Rendering
- As an Xcode server for automated testing in the background
- For use on a stage during concerts
- To show off your work on digital signage and more.
This isn't a use case for everyone, but if you are invested in the Mac ecosystem and have these specific professional and creative uses the 2018 Mac Mini could be just what you need.

Previously, magnets simply weren’t necessary

The mac mini is nice for people who don’t need GPU, but if you add an eGPU it gets very close to imac where you also get a much better screen than the one you have. I’ll just wait for the next iMAC, I hope it will have 256GB SSD as base option and the same i5 as the mini (or close).
